Another Gypsy Christmas...

My first Christmas in ZZ kind of felt like any other day as I was at school...working...but you should know, it was a good day.  Calm and peaceful.

The weeks leading up to the holiday were great because we had many school celebrations and it was exciting to prepare for our Christmas concert.  I enjoyed teaching my students about Christmas and I never felt that holiday spirit was lacking even though Christmas isn't really that big of a deal here.  Sure there are decorated trees and holiday music playing in every store but that's really where it ends.  It's significance is nothing like it is back home.

(Long writing pause).

Actually, as I think about this more as I am writing, Christmas is quite significant here.  It's just another interpretation of what Christmas is about...which is nothing short of being unique and different in its own special way.

I think my photos will show just that :D  December was a pretty great month!

...but it did start out rather smoggy lol

my only decoration at home was this cute mini tree that lit up and played music

the giant cake you see was sooo delicious and had an expiration date lasting 4 hours only!

my nursery classroom dec'd out

...singing "I Wish I Was A Jolly Little Elf..."

Christmas photo shoot...heehee

"you know, I think Santa's house is made of cookies, too..."

"Santa?" pointing at hole in ground...

our student's parents joined us for our Christmas potluck lunch

a Christmas dinner with some friends :)

...and finally, the skies cleared and it was bright & sunny...just in time for the New Year

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

Thanks for reading :)
